Joseph Kony should only be listened to in court!

SIR — Having failed to win any support of the Acholi for his unjust and brutal war, does Kony expect any sympathy from the rest of the country?

SIR — Having failed to win any support of the Acholi for his unjust and brutal war, does Kony expect any sympathy from the rest of the country? Uganda being a small country, how is Kony going to use the River Nile as a frontier to demarcate his imagined fiefdom? Where was he schooled to tell Ugandans how much he wants to “liberate” them? Could anyone imagine Jinja, Iganga, Busia, Tororo, Pallisa, Mbale or Soroti under his administration? He continues to pretend that he has a burden to liberate the East. I would genuinely warn the residents of these districts that Kony would take these areas more than 200 years backwards if he could make his jokes come true. It is more than annoying for a man like Kony, with a history of raping children to have more children and to be given audience at all except in the courts of law.
If Uganda is negotiating with the LRA, I guess it is out of the frustration of having to deal with a rag-tag army that has abducted children from seminaries, homes and schools. Kony is a cancer to Uganda and our shame as Africans. It is unthinkable how people like Martin Ojul or Josephine Apira could continue to make such unrealistic demands using the LRA platform on behalf of Kony. Being a woman biologically or socially, Apira should focus her advocacy on the release of women and children who are hostages of LRA instead of siding with Kony for ethnic reasons.
Josephine, you are in an unholy alliance with the people who have trivialised rape, demeaned women and robbed children of their innocence.
Apira should not pretend that the sex slavery imposed on those young women and children is of no concern to her. She should watch out because she too, as a woman, is a potential target for abduction and rape by the LRA even though she has the guts to speak for them!
