THE management of Tri-star has refuted reports that the company has collapsed.
However, the textile firm, which was established under the African Growth and Opportunities Act, admitted operating below capacity.
“The company has downsized its operations due to operational and logistical reasons which are being sorted out, but we will be rolling back to optimal production progressively within a short time.
"This is expected to be in a few weeks time,†management said yesterday.
Sources said the Government had decided to take over the firm during a meeting between President Museveni, finance minister Ezra Suruma and other government officials.
