LUWEERO residents have been asked to grow plenty of food to sell during next year’s CHOGM.

The district woman MP, Rebecca Lukwago, said the Commonwealth summit would provide an opportunity for the residents to market their agricultural produce.

“Very many people will be coming for the CHOGM summit. Hotels will require a lot of food and vegetables. We are lucky that we are only 40 miles from Kampala,” she told Bamunanika residents last Wednesday.

Lukwago, who was touring Degeya and Kalagala parishes in Bamunanika county, asked residents not to sit back and wait for the Bonna bagaggawale funds.
“Even when the bonna bagaggawale funds come, it will be loan money, not free,” she said.

She asked the people to take the bonna bagaggawale slogan to mean hard work as a means to fight poverty.
