Kampala mayor Al-Haji Nasser Sebaggala hosted the investors and Ugandans living in the UK and Northern Ireland to a grand banquet last Saturday.

Speaking to his guests at the Royal National Hotel in Central London, Sebaggala said, “I want to thank all of you who contributed to my journey to the mayoral seat. Many questioned my qualifications and were asking to see my papers.

They were asking as if they had given me the fees.”

“I have never seen the qualifications of Museveni and others, but why do they question mine?” queried Sebaggala.

He was referring to those who doubted his academic qualifications in the run-up to the mayoral elections.

This was Sebaggala’s first time back in London since he completed his studies in July 2004 at Ruskin College of Oxford.

“We have to motivate our people to overcome poverty. I have co-operated with the central government because I am fighting for the cause of the common man,” said Sebaggala.
