St. Lawrence launches music album

ST. LAWRENCE Senior Secondary School Ssonde, Namugongo has launched its maiden album, <i>Wampologoma</i>. The six-track album, produced and recorded by Kisa Production International, was launched at a function held at the school in Mukono recently.

ST. LAWRENCE Senior Secondary School Ssonde, Namugongo has launched its maiden album, Wampologoma. The six-track album, produced and recorded by Kisa Production International, was launched at a function held at the school in Mukono recently.

The album with Luganda afro-beat music has already been getting tremendous air play on the local FM radio stations. It features on Wavah Broadcasting Service (WBS) Television, Uganda Broadcasting Corporation (UBC) Television and other television stations.

The title track, Wampologoma, urges people to work harder and also criticises people who are not appreciative of what others do for them.
Other tracks are Live Longer With AIDS, Don’t be selfish, Love Your Parents and the Almighty God.
The director of the school, Joseph Kiwanuka Balikudembe, said the entertainment group was also filming a play called The Future. He said the play would be featuring on WBS, UBC T, and Top TV.

Buganda’s state minister for education, Sauda Namyalo, officiated at the launch of the album.
She urged students to be disciplined to keep the school’s name shining.
