RAKAI Democratic Party (DP) chairman Joseph Kabugu angered Movem-ent supporters during the 19th NRM anniversary when he removed essanja (dry banana leaves) from a group of drama actors and dropped them in front of the LC5 chairman, Vincent Semakula.

Essanja is a symbol for third term.
Kabugu approached the group, which was performing with essanja around their necks, and removed them as Movement supporters looked on.

Semakula picked it and dropped it where Kabugu was sitting. Kabugu walked way amid cheers from Movement supporters.

This drama took place at Lyakisana Primary School in Kacheera sub-county on Wednesday where the district celebrated the NRM anniversary.

This forced a Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) member, Hajji Muhamed Lusiba, to cross to the Movement. He handed his UPC card to Semakula to assure him that he would never return to UPC.

Semakula accused the DP leaders of merging with UPC again.
