HIGH Court on Monday ordered the attachment of movable property of SDV Transami for failure to pay about sh300m, writes James Odomel.

This follows a Commercial Court suit number 122 of 2002, where the company was accused of vandalising a truck for its client, a Tanzanian businessman, Ramathan Mbwana.

On September 13, 2004, the Commercial Court ordered SDV Transami to pay for the truck including interest and damages, but it failed.

A letter to court bailiffs signed by the registrar read, “Attach the movable property of SDV Transami, unless it pays the said sum with costs of execution.”

According to the letter, property for attachment included three vehicles worth sh240m, a fork lift le005 valued at sh50m and a sh10m small fork lift.
