OLD grievances in the Democratic Party (DP) are being reopened in the new party wrangles, reports Jude Etyang.

DP vice-president Zachary Olum has said party president Paul Ssemogerere and treasurer John Ssebaana Kizito are still on suspension as per a resolution of the national council in 2000.

Ssebaana, however, opposed the suspension in court last week and the court ruling is pending.

But Olum and Ssemogerere had resolved their differences last year after winning several court battles against the Government’s political parties law.

Olum made the charges in an affidavit last week to block Ssemogerere from joining a legal battle in which a DP faction was seeking powers to register the party.
