Ugandan gospel music registered yet another landmark entry last Sunday when Brenda Sayote released her maiden solo album entitled Seasons, writes Nathan Kiwere.

The teenage sensation now on vacation after Senior Six, wasted no time in proving her worth during the high-powered and eventful launch at Cine Afrique Cinema on Bombo road.

Many skeptics of this previously little known artiste were anxious to see the kind of show she would put up.

This was perhaps because of her tender age and, of course, inexperience. However, all the doubting Thomases were proved wrong when Sayote put up a surprise showbiz. One would be excused to imagine there was some charm working her up. T

he timing could not have been better as hundreds of fans thronged the coy pews of the gargantuan cinema show.

Fans joined the performing artistes in almost uncontrollable frenzy.
The show was kick-started by recording artistes, who included Shalvin Imman, prize-winning and silk voiced Joseph Wabwire, 2004 Pam Awards nominee, Grace Morgan, dance hall maestro, Martin Sseku and inspirational crowd thriller Wilson Bugembe.

Finally, Sayote hit the stage decked in a snow-white fancy outfit, accompanied by back up artistes, Lois Nangudi, Revolution Dancers and group of over 20 dancing ‘fanatics’.
Top on the range was her lead track Seasons that calls out to young people to turn to Jesus.
