Orphans get houses

AN international NGO, AMREF, has constructed 81 houses for orphans in Butuntumula, Luweero district.

AN international NGO, AMREF, has constructed 81 houses for orphans in Butuntumula, Luweero district.

AMREF official Dr. Juma Nabembezi said the project was funded by the Radio Television of Luxemburg in Germany through AMREF-Uganda.

He said the local communities also contributed towards the houses, which cost over sh405.

The beneficiaries are vulnerable children and orphans, whose parents died of AIDS.

The houses were handed over to the beneficiaries by Luweero LC5 chairman Haji Abdul Nadduli on Wednesday.
The chief guest at the ceremony was assistant commissioner in charge of reproductive health Dr. Anthony Mbonye, who represented health state minister Mike Mukula.
