OVER 200 inmates of Ndorwa government prison in Kabale on Wednesday celebrated the Easter season with prayer and had a banquet with Kigezi diocesan officials.

Darious Magara reports that after sharing a meal with the diocese officials led by Bishop George Katwesigye, 25 prisoners confessed their sins and gave their lives to Christ.

During the service, five prisoners were baptised and 16 confirmed in the Anglican faith.

Katwesigye said Christianity was based on love for one another.
He handed over donations that included cartons of soap, vaseline, toothpaste, toothbrushes and 50 basins to the inmates.

“Being a prisoner doesn’t mark the end of your life. accept Jesus and He will do it all for you,” Katwesigye said. The guests were taken on a guided tour of the prison and were impressed by the conditions of living.

The O/C, SP Vincent Kubomu, thanked the bishop and his team for their generosity to the inmates and for making time to share the word of God with them.
The inmates thanked the clergy and the Government for improving their living condition.
