OPPOSITION MPs are excited after the Government said it had abandoned the leasing of the Dairy Corporation to a Thai company.

Samia Bugwe North MP Aggrey Awori yesterday said, “I am happy the Government has dropped this deal but the management contract should also be cancelled because the company does not have the competence to run the corporation.”

Lubaga South MP and Conservative Party secretary general Ken Lukyamuzi said the Government’s withdrawal of the deal was an indication that it was not sufficiently programmed and is not focused.

A Forum for Democratic Change chief mobiliser Augustine Ruzindana said, “The Government has not dropped the deal, it has only changed to another management contract who we await to see its policy and new developments.”
Oyam south MP Okullo Epak said, “Government has been caught and cannot proceed with impunity.”
