Scientists should update the Government on new findings to improve agriculture, the minister in charge has said.
Janat Mukwaya said scientists ought to work closely with the Government as a policy implementer.
“Scientists must advise the Government on what plan of action to take. This business of figures and diagrams must stop. Merely saying ‘things will be bad in 10 years’ without a solution won’t help,” Mukwaya said on Friday at the Jinja-based Fisheries Resources Research Institute.
“If the problem is to maintain Nile Perch in Lake Victoria despite food shortage, scientists ought to devise an action plan for both food and the fish.” Mukwaya said.
