For eight weeks, 24 corporate teams will tussle it out at Alleygators for sh1.2m, an array of trophies, fully connected mobile phones and of course local bragging rights in the maiden MTN sponsored bowling league, that kicked off last week.
Recently, The New Vision took on fancied opponents, KFM, Stanbic bank, MTN Uganda and Sanyu FM in an evening, where teams not only showed scant respect for each other, but the finesse and determination with which they bowled suggested a highly competitive affair. When Sanyu’s Seanice Kacungira wasn’t screaming herself hoarse for hitting all pins, it was Stanbic Bank’s PRO, Daniel Nsibambi giving team mates high fives, or KFM’s Mitch getting harangued for letting teammates down with poor throws. And boy, he put up a poor run! The New Vision, branded the ‘almost team’ all night after narrowly losing out to KFM, MTN and Stanbic Bank, saved the best for last, thrashing Sanyu FM with a score of 438 to 364. Seanice was the night’s gem posting the highest individual score of 167.
Other fancied participants are dfcu, Hima Cement, Capital FM, Radio One, Strikers, Poachers, X-terminators, Split Pins, Madiabas and Team Simba. Also
A-Team, Al-Malik Group, M&M, Sling Shots, Torpedoes, Amigos, Dragons, Double Dutch and the King Pins.
