The society had promised to supply motorcycles to the residents at sh2m after paying for them (motorcycles) in installments of sh280,000.
The residents said they paid the money in August last year, but till today, they have not received the motorcycles and the society’s bosses have disappeared.
The Resident District Commissioner, Deo Nsereko, said “I am aware of the circus involving Woligwa Wendigwa Cooperative Society and the residents. I have summoned them to my office but none of the bosses has appeared.”
Meanwhile, the District Internal Security Officer, Eddie Kizito, ordered the temporary closure of the society’s head office in Mukono town.
He said until Zam Kayika (assistant secretary) and Kyejjwe Bongole (treasurer) appear to resolve the case, the office would remain closed.
