Charles Tumwi-ne told the executive members on Friday that 88% of the youth lacked information on HIV/Aids.

UWA called
RESIDENTS of Nteko Parish in Nyabeishenya sub-county have said wild animals from Bwindi National Park destroyed their property but the Uganda Wildlife Authority has not intervened.
The LC3 chairperson, mihanda Aurelia, last week appealed to the government to compensate the affected people.

100,000 trees
KANUNGU district is to plant 100,000 trees this rainy season to check deforestation.
Chief administrative officer Elias Byamungu on Thursday said on phone that the district had given out free seedlings of different species to farmers in preparation for the rainy season.

Wells built
KABAROLE — A netherlands-based NGO, SIMAVI, has constructed 26 shallow wells and 10 cement water tanks in Kisomoro sub-county. RDC Ndiiwa Chemasuet at the hand-over on Friday said water coverage in the district had increased to 80% with most people accessing water within 500 metres.

Scholarships
KABAROLE — Over 50 female officers employed by the district local government have applied for scholarships to pursue degrees. The applicants were last week responding to an offer by Makerere University with support from the Rockefeller Foundation.

Mob burns
BUSHENYI — A 30-year-old man was on Thursday burnt to death by a mob that accused him of stealing a bicycle. Nathan Kabakororaki of mushumba parish, Ryeru sub-county, was burnt with petrol at Ndenkye trading centre after the mob found him riding the bicycle to Kasese.
