UGANDAN ace bowler Kenneth Kamyuka has warned Kenya that he is on top of his game going into today’s ICC Intercontinental Cup tie at Lugogo oval.

“I have never felt so good in my career like I feel now. From my practice and trial matches we have played I have been able to do whatever I want with the ball and I am sure I will be able to torment them (Kenyans),” Kamyuka said yesterday.

Kamyuka plays semi-professional cricket in South Africa and is anxious to make up for a disappointing show last year in the same tournament.

The Kenyans beat Uganda by more than an innings in the same contest at Nairobi Gymkhana.

Skipper Joel Olweny however assured Ugandans they have put last year’s loss at the back of their minds. He said they had reflected on the mistakes they made as a team then, and was sure they had found remedies.

“We batted poorly and each of us has been reflecting on what went wrong then. I am sure it won’t be the same at Lugogo in front of our own fans,” Olweny promised.

Kamyuka concurred with the skipper and promised Ugandans a thrilling three-day game. “It won’t be a two-day game like it was in Nairobi,” Kamyuka then returned bowling figures of 4-83.

Olweny (8&52) and Nand Kishor (42&25) were the only batsmen to score more that 50 runs in their combined innings as the Ugandans crumbled.

On another positive note for Ugandans all rounder Junior Kwebiiha was declared fit to play today.

Kenya coach Mudassar Nazar was cautious. “I expect a tight contest bearing in mind that the hosts have improved over the years but we shall play to our strength and aim for the best,” Nazar said.

Kenya are without explosive batsman Ravindu Shah who is nursing a knee injury. Shah tormented Ugandan bowlers with a blazing 135 runs last year.

Meanwhile, Hoosain Ayob, Africa’s ICC development manager, is here for the game.
