PRESIDENT Yoweri Museveni has vowed to reject foreign assistance which compromises the country’s sovereignty.
“We shall reject any aid which undermines our sovereignty,” Museveni told a press conference at Konrad Hotel in Brussels in Belgium.
Museveni said the on-going constitutional changes were not aimed at giving him a third term.
He said the constitution was being reviewed and other groups had presented their proposed amendments.
Museveni criticised the anti-third term groups for attacking the proposal, while supporting other proposed amendments like the return to multiparty democracy.
He dismissed fears that if presidential term limits are removed, there will be political turmoil.
He said Africa needs leaders with a vision.
