Twice, they’ve been here on different social causes. And there’s no denying the Soweto String Quartet (SSQ) a third coming to Uganda, when they jet into the country for a fundraising concert dubbed ‘SSQ Heart Benefit Concert 2005’.

On Friday May 13, Didi’s world auditorium is the place to be when brothers Sandile Reuben, Thami Khemese and a friend, Makhosini will be performing to raise funds for the Uganda Heart Institute of Mulago hospital. Dr John Omagino, the deputy director, Mulago Heart Institute, says they badly need the funds to stop the influx of people going abroad for open-heart surgery, yet the human resource to deal with such heart cases is around. MTN, Nile Breweries, Kenya Airways, Imperial Group of Hotels together with event organisers, Vantage Communications, will be hosting the renowned South African instrumentalists.
