NEBBI — Three people have declared their intention to vie for the district chairmanship in the 2006 elections. They are the incumbent, Esrom William Alenyo, former Adjumani district local government internal auditor Okweda Rukuba and the LC3 chairman for Paidha town council, John Paskal Wapokorwa.

MPs demand
KAMPALA — The parliamentary works committee is seeking mandate to participate in the probe of the incident where a ship sank in Lake Victoria on Sunday. The committee yesterday accused the Government and the Uganda Railways corporation of negligence.
