PRESIDENT Yoweri Museveni has ordered fresh verification of Luweero bush war claimants who have not yet been paid.
Museveni met 160 claimants at State House, Nakasero, on Friday and assured them that funds were available but they needed to be verified, a source said.
Luweero Triangle state minister Zirabamuzaale Magoola, Lt. Col. proscovia Nalweiyso and Luweero district chairman Haji Abdul Nadduli attended.
Museveni told the claimants that the National Resistance Army liberation struggle was not for material gain but a revolution to modernise the country.
He cited Universal Primary Education and infrastructural development as some of the political gains from the war.
Museveni asked the claimants why they used opposition politician Ken Lukyamuzi to politicise their cause.
They said Lukyamuzi approached them after the former Luweero minister Prof. Kiwanuka Semakula failed to solve their problems.
