NILE Breweries Ltd are considering a comeback into football sponsorship if the sport’s administration is streamlined.

Nile Breweries Kampala area sales’ manager Shem Ssemambo made the revelation at a press briefing to announce his company’s brand, Club Pilsner sponsorship for the SC Villa fans’ bash on Sunday.

The fans will be celebrating Villa’s CECAFA club championship victory in Mwanza 12 days ago.

“We had moved out but this could be a stepping stone for us to come back. We are closely following the proceedings in the FUFA administration,” Ssemambo, flanked by Villa fans’ coordinator Ben Misagga, said.

He however could not come up with the monetary figure of the Villa bash sponsorship but said all invited guests would have free brand drinks and other revellers would have them at subsidised prices.

Nile Breweries sponsored the super league for five years before terminating the contract at the end of the 2003 season citing lack of transparency in the running of the competition.

Ssemambo said Club Pilsner was proud to associate with Villa, with whom they share the same blue colour.

He hinted that the occasion could be the beginning of a long relationship between the two as some details were being sorted out.

Ssemambo also revealed that Club Pilsner is to reward the club’s outstanding players at the just concluded CECAFA tournament.
Misagga said Captain Juma Seiko had offered five bulls for the occasion.
