Former Deputy Premier Dr. Eric Tiyo Sekebuga Adriko on Saturday wedded the daughter of former Archbishop of the Church of Uganda Janan Luwum at Bugolobi Anglican Church.
Adriko, in a black suit with his bestman former Commissioner of Prisons Joseph Etima, arrived for the wedding at 2:00pm.
Adriko’s bride, Julian Luwum, is a secretary to the Minister of Lands, water and Environment, Maj. Gen. Kahinda Otafiire.
This is Adriko’s second marriage. The first wife, Adriko Wangore, died five years ago.
The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, Henry Luke Orombi, urged the couple to love one another.
He said marriage was a gift they should cherish.
Orombi drew laughter from the crowd when he told Adriko to dig deep into his pocket to make his new wife look good.
He said Julia Luwum should now be his centre of attraction and advised other couples who feel tired of their partners to rethink.
Orombi said he recently took his wife for a honeymoon to Australia and hastened to add that it was special, coming after 33 years of marriage. He said honeymoons never end.
The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Disaster Preparedness, Moses Ali, represented the Government at the wedding ceremony.
