THE justice and constitutional affairs state minister has advised Ugandans not to rely on donor funds, saying it cannot transform them.
Adolf Mwesige said some Ugandans had started their own initiatives and achieved development without donor funds.
He was on Saturday addressing a Business Entrepreneurs Training programme at the Private Sector Foundation in Fort Portal, Kabarole district.
He said the Government would introduce circles for credit and savings at sub-county level to minimise borrowing from micro-finance institutions.
“These loans you get from micro-finance institutions are uneconomical. How will a poor person develop with an interest of 36% annually in a poor country?” he asked.
