MUBENDE district local council has passed a sh21.1b budget for the 2005/2006 financial year.

MUBENDE district local council has passed a sh21.1b budget for the 2005/2006 financial year.
The district vice-chairperson, Herbert lutwama, said sh19.79b was expected from central government transfers.
Lutwama told the council that following government’s abolition of graduated tax, only sh736m was expected to be collected from local resources.
Sh658m is expected from donors and NGOs.
Lutwama said sh12.4b would be spent on salary bills, accounting for 59% of the total district budget expenditure.
The district speaker, the Rev. Enock Mushaija Kasirabo, commended the high degree of political maturity exhibited by councillors at the financial year deliberations.
