THE absence of top seed Ivan Karimunda has left Picfare Schools boys’ defending champion Kyambogo College with an uphill task of defending the title.

The badminton event starts at Lugogo Indoor stadium today.

Karimunda, who together with Kyambogo stars Brian Suuna and Derrick Lukyamuzi completed their senior six, are ineligible to represent the school in this year’s event.
This leaves uprising schools Kibuli and Aga Khan a better chance of lifting the title.

Picfare Industries have sunk sh5m in the three-day tournament that is expected to attract over 400 students from over 30 schools.
