PEARL of Africa rally clerk of course (COC) Steven Byaruhanga maintains that the prestigious championship scheduled for September will be the ‘finest’ to grace local rallying sport in years.

While releasing the event’s revised high-speed gravel routes and tournament logo at Rock Gardens yesterday, Byaruhanga said: “It’s going to be the best ever and the key elements we considered were speed, safety, convenience and above all competition.”

The event, renowned for its slippery and narrow stages, shifts to Wakiso and Luwero where it is expected to become more exciting as dust and sunlight combine to demand precision driving.

The event, yet to secure a sponsor, will commence with a head-to-head sprint in Lubiri.
