Inzikuru got 400 points at the Uganda Sports Press Association (USPA) monthly meeting held at Hotel Africana.

The athlete, also voted Sports Personality for May, beat African Boxing Union (ABU) light middleweight boxer Badru Lusambya who earned 325 points.

KCC football club striker Geoffrey Sserunkuma also contested the award and picked 265 points.

Inzikuru was recognised for rewriting the African record at the Athens Grand Prix.

Inzikuru’s time was also the fastest in the event this year.

‘Mr Crush’ Lusambya was nominated for knocking out a South African Tshepo Mashego in the sixth round of his ABU title defence.

At the meeting sponsored by USPA patron Michael Ezra, Sserunkuma was considered for leading KCC to second place in group B of the City Tyres Super League.

Sserunkuma has scored three of the nine goals that have pushed KCC to second place on the table.
At the same time, plans to crown professional boxer Kassim Ouma, the 2004 Sports Personality in the United States were unveiled.

‘The President’ Ouma will get his awards after his IBF junior middleweight title defence on July 15 in Las Vegas.
