BUSHENYI — Seven students from Germany are touring schools and local communities in the district. The delegation is led by former Igara West MP Samson Nyine Bitahwa, the director of Rukararwe partnership workshop for rural development, a local NGO. Bitahwa recently said the tour was aimed at strengthening international exchange of friendship between Germany and Uganda.

Cops flee

KABALE — Female Police officers at Kabale Police Station hid when a man arrived at the station, running stark naked. It turned out he was a suspect escaping a mob that wanted to lynch him over theft.

Poor work

KABAROLE — District councillors have lamented the poor maintenance of rural roads in their sub-counties by contractors. Florence Kadoma of Bukuuku sub-county said most people the district awarded tenders for road maintenance did shoddy work.
