INTERNALLY displaced persons (IDPs) in northern Uganda are to benefit from a consignment of goods donated to by the Church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints.
The disaster preparedness minister, Lt.Gen. Moses Ali, received the consignment at the ministry’s warehouse on port bell road on Friday.
He said he would deliver the items worth US$230,555 (about sh360m) to the camps.
The consignment includes 350 boxes of medical kits, 1,200 blankets, school kits and 150 bales of clothing.
Handing over the items, Byron Shaw said the Church had over the last three years contributed US$6m towards charity in Uganda.
Moses Ali said the IDPs’ needs were of great concern to all communities.
