A Luweero medical doctor has confessed before the High Court that he made a false post-mortem report.
Dr John Bosco Tezitta, 32, told Justice Moses Mukiibi that in Kasana Health CentreIV, Luweero, where he is the only medical officer, he used information provided by a mortuary attendant whom he referred to as a “hyena” to make a postmortem report on a body of a woman who had been killed by hacking.
Tezitta was giving evidence in a murder case against a 35-year-old man, Abeeri Turyagabirwa alias Mulokole, who is alleged to have killed his wife, Gorette Kiiza, by chopping her several times on the head, neck and limbs.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Fred Waninda, said Turyagabirwa committed the offence at Nabbanga village in Luweero district on March 29, 2004 when he hacked his wife to death after suspecting her of having an affair with his (Turyagabirwa’s) workmate.
Robert Kornex Abok, a Police Constable said on March 30, 2004, turyag-abirwa went to Bombo Police Station with a panga and told him that he had killed his wife with that panga. However, Turyagabirwa has since denied the offence and claimed that it is thugs who attacked his wife.
