The district has so far received sh150m out of the budgeted and anticipated sh300m from Danida for the road programme.

The money will help rehabilitate the Buyekera Nakiwate and Kasawo-Lwajjali roads in Nakifuma county.

I thanked President Yoweri Museveni for funding the district especially in the road sector because almost 98% of the funds come from the central government.

but I also reminded him of the pledge he made in 2002 to rehabilitate the Kyetume-Kisoga-Nkokonjeru-Najja-Nyenga which is in an appalling situation.

Lastly, I said that the new ferry plying the Kiyindi-Kirongo route operates on a 19-year-old engine which is an encumbrance. A second and new engine is needed.
