What people will not do just for a freebie! On Thursday in Silk Lounge, BAT’s Jenkins Mukasa threw a sh6m bash to launch Benson and Hedges’ new logo. As guests filed into the lounge, they were handed flashy card torches which are almost the same size as an MTN airtime card bearing the Benson and Hedges logo. However, many got confused and started thinking that BAT is now into peddling airtime. Three guests were so excited that they had ‘recieved airtime’ that they straight away tore open the plastic covering and got ready to load. They soon realised there was no place to scratch to reveal the loading number. It was only after they had looked around to see how the rest were ‘loading’ their airtime that they woke up to the realisation that the card was a torch and not airtime!
