There were five awards from Banker Financial Times and three from Euromoney.
Awards from Global Finance were for the Best Emerging Markets Bank 2005 for Zambia and Ghana, while Trade Finance’s award was for Best Trade Finance Bank in sub-Saharan Africa for 2005.

The bank’s chief executive officer for Africa, Sherazam Mazari, said the awards recognised Standard Chartered’s products and services, asset growth, profitability and strategic relationships.
