INSPIRED by KCC FC’s substandard performance and a certain ‘trace of defensive madness’, SC Villa strode to the final yesterday following a dramatic 2-1 victory over the Lugogo-based outfit.

Going into the return City Tyres Super League semi-final fixture with a two goal deficit, KCC needed to show what they are made of.

Instead, they seemed transfixed by the intensity of the occasion, conceding an own goal with just 32 seconds played through defender Ronald Apangu.

Geoffrey Sserunkuuma appeared to have handed KCC a lifeline with a sublime equaliser minutes after.

But Villa, dictating play, released Dan Wagaluka for the second goal that literally eliminated KCC out of the competition.

Villa face Police in the final that takes place on September 14.

Meanwhile, Mityana Utoda has pulled out of this years City Tyres Super League citing financial constraints. The implication is that the team has qualified itself to play in the lower division next year. The club management wrote to the competitions committee informing them of their decision, something the committee accepted.
Mityana had failed to honour two of their games.
