Gulu LCs train in child rights

OVER 240 local council officials from four sub-counties in Gulu district have undergone training in protecting children’s rights and handling juvenile suspects.

OVER 240 local council officials from four sub-counties in Gulu district have undergone training in protecting children’s rights and handling juvenile suspects.
Rural Focus Uganda Project (RUFOU) official Gilbert Omeda said the aim of the training was to strengthen the capacity of the LCs to protect children’s rights and handle juvenile cases reported in their courts.
The training was organised by RUFOU and Save the Children Uganda. The participants included secretaries for children, women affairs, persons with disabilities and youth representatives.
