Just how far has Uganda come as a rugby-playing nation? We shall see that as the Rugby Cranes play the Zimbabwe Sables for the second time in a week in the first game of the CAR 9s tournament.

This game, coming after Saturday’s Rugby World Cup qualifier, was supposed to be played on September 3 but the Uganda and Zimbabwean rugby unions agreed that it makes little sense for the visitors to leave, and then come back next week.

“It’s quite a challenge because we have not played an international 15s game back-to-back like this,” national team coach Yayiro Kasasa said.

Saturday’s game provides rugby fans the chance to watch two internationals two weekends in a row for the first time.
