Mukula mesmerised
State minister for health Capt. Mike Mukula has never run short of jokes. Recently, during a visit of The New Vision offices, he joked that he had never seen such a state-of-the-art building housing a media company. Mukula said, “You people are far ahead. This is a good newsroom. I hope other companies strive hard to have one like this.”

Brave Ssekabanja
Makindye RDC, Edward Ssekabanja is a brave man but only fears for his children.
Recently, when grenades were found in the Kampala RDC office he said, “I think someone was targeting us, but even if I died I would not mind. I would only mind about my little daughter whom I had come with.” Ssekabanja had come with his daughter, Justine Nakanwagi, a fresh graduate from Nkozi National Teachers College to attend a meeting at the RDC’s office in the National Insurance Corporation building.

Kaggwa says bye
Former Mulago hospital director, Dr. Lawrence Kaggwa is destined for the ministry of health as head of planning and development.
Kaggwa was heard recently telling with his fellow OBs during the launch of St. Mary’s College Kisubi’s celebrations that he would soon join the ministry.
“The new director for the hospital will be announced soon,” he said.

Files missing?

Nakawa RDC Samuel Hashaka Mpimbaza says he lost many of his files including those where he was investigating corruption, to people who invaded his office over the weekend.
He said that when they found grenades at the Kampala RDC’s office where they were scheduled to meet on Monday, he was forced to think that the bombs were planted to kill him. But his boss dismissed his claims. Poor Hashaka!

Nsibambi requests

Prime Minister Apolo Nsibambi has requested outgoing Tanzanian president Benjamin Mkapa to write a book about his experience to benefit students and politicians.
“As Chancellor of Makerere University and on behalf of Makerere University alumni, we are proud to point out that a former distinguished student of Makerere University has been a successful President of Tanzania,” he said.
