UIA woos investors for the 2005 awards

UGANDA Investment Authority (UIA) has asked more investors to compete for this year's investor of year award. The awards are scheduled for November 25.

UGANDA Investment Authority (UIA) has asked more investors to compete for this year's investor of year award. The awards are scheduled for November 25.
The awards are aimed at recognising investors' contribution to the economy by creating employment and locally manufacturing goods for export.
Gold, Silver and Bronze awards will be given out.
Other awards will be given out to projects in medium and small-scale categories.
"We are looking for investors who have implemented their projects and reached commercial production during the period from October 2004 to October 2005 to participate," the executive director, Dr Maggie Kigozi said in an interview on Monday.
Kigozi said the projects that have expanded over the same period, could participate.
Kigozi was speaking after receiving a cheque for sh4.2m contribution towards the awards from Tororo Cement Industries at their offices in Kampala
