Conmen are quickly discovering that holidaymakers’ bashes are the easiest way to make quick cash. They advertise sensational artistes that every student would want to see. When the students have paid to enter, the organisers take to the their heels. However, last Saturday, they lost their game with shame!

The organisers had made posters to advertise a holidaymakers’ bash at Hotel Equatorial’s Basement Club. The advert became the buzz in town with the return of students for holidays last week. Most of them ogled for Benon and Vamposs, Mosh, Sweet Kid and Ngoni, all for sh5,000.

The bash was supposed to begin at noon till 8.00pm. But by 4:00pm, none of the artistes advertised had shown up!

Soon came the news that Benon and Vamposs were away with Jose Chameleone in Burundi. Sweet Kid was away launching his new album at Imperial Resort Beach.

Mosh and Lyrical G had shown up accompanied by ready to fight fellows, but not to entertain. The two artistes demanded their pay for using their names without permission. However, the organisers even failed to raise the sh500,000 that Mosh charges per show. Mosh and Lyrical G settled for sh100,000.

Basement club manager said, “I only hired out the venue to the event organisers. I’m not the one who invited the artistes to perform.”
