THE hotel industry in Uganda gets better by the day. But there is nothing like Le Bougainviller in Bugoloobi. Going by the launch of the hotel on Friday, it should be everyone’s wish to be there.

With the swimming pool as an invitational ground, many were set for a romantic evening. But for the few, who were invited, it was an opportunity to unwind after a long hectic day.

The director, Scontrini Bruno, ushered in all his guests, taking them on a trip round the hotel and giving them all they ever wished for in life. If this is what life should be, then life is good!

Complete with a romanticised environment (those plants and the green pool of water), everything looked out of this world. Le Bougainviller is not only for the heart, but also for the soul and spirit.

For the few who showed up (mainly expatriates), it was a party that will remain on everyone’s memory for as long as memory exists.

There were no speeches, no stage performances and nothing, but enjoyment of a cozy atmosphere, which sent Hon Maria Mutagamba saying, “this privacy within a small beautiful place is phenomenal!”

Louis David Texier, the new director of Alliance Francaise, had the best welcome for someone new in the country. His countryman, Bernard Garanche, the French ambassador did more interaction.

Valery Utkin, the ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation, had the jokes, having a good laugh with his friends.

The New Vision’s William Pike wrestled with adoration as he toured the VIP, a cosy place that doubles as the residence of the director.

With the water flowing, the environmentalists had their day. It was a day any environmentalist wound describe as friendly. All materials used to make the hotel are natural and local.

Le Bougainviller is a rare name to us natives, but the launch of the hotel was historically phenomenal. And a great place it will always be. Those 13 rooms at the hotel are just the “thing”.
