A MAN was shot dead and his lover raped by unknown assailants in Old Kampala, a Kampala suburb, as they headed back home on Tuesday night.
Robert Kabuhanda, a private security guard attached to Securicor, was murdered and his lover raped when thugs ambushed them as they rode on a bodaboda back home.
The two had hired a bodaboda cyclist at Pride Theatre on Namirembe Road to ferry them to Mengo, a city suburb, when the assailants struck at about 11:00pm, the police said.
Old Kampala Police Station chief, Araa Okot, yesterday said the thugs appeared from nowhere and put their victims at gunpoint.
“They ordered the bodaboda man to flee and led the woman toward Namirembe Cathedral,†Okot said.
They raped the woman in a bush and shot the man, Okot said.
