Excel Insurance boosts Uhuru swimming gala

LEADING insurance company Excel has committed sh2.4m to Sunday’s Independence Day swimming gala at Lubowa on Entebbe road.

LEADING insurance company Excel has committed sh2.4m to Sunday’s Independence Day swimming gala at Lubowa on Entebbe road.

The insurers unveiled their package at their head office in Kampala yesterday. “We continue with our support to Uganda Swimming Federation (USF) by once again sponsoring this gala for the fourth time,” David Walakira Mukasa, the managing director of Excel Insurance and patron of USF said.

“It is through this commitment that we are paying back to society, who are our loyal clients.”

The weekend gala is one of the highlights on the USF calendar. It has attracted International School of Uganda (ISU), who are the hosts, defending champion’s Kabira International School, Greenhill Academy, Kampala Junior Academy, Kampala Parents School, Taibah High School, Makerere inter youth, Makerere University, Nabisunsa Girls School, Jinja club and Sir Apollo Kaggwa Primary School,
Others are Montessori School, Jack and Jill Primary School, White Angels Primary School, Heritage International School, Rainbow academy, Kabojja School.

The one-day event will have 80 events that will include the 1,500m with over 100 swimmers.

The meet will also be used to select a team for the Sub-Saharan Junior Championships due in Lusaka, Zambia next year.
USF hailed Excel Insurance for its continued support to the sport.
