Rukungiri FDC elects Besigye

THE Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) in Rukungiri has elected Col. Dr. Kiiza Besigye chairperson at LC1 and LCII in the ongoing FDC national elections.

THE Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) in Rukungiri has elected Col. Dr. Kiiza Besigye chairperson at LC1 and LCII in the ongoing FDC national elections.
The elections started at 4:00pm and ended at 5:00pm at Rukungiri Stadium on Monday. Besigye was nominated by Godfrey Katunguka at LC1 and at LC2 southern ward, he was nominated by Levi Akatukunda and seconded by Rhodah Mirembe.
Other members on the committee at LC2 level are Gauda Kemigisha (vice-chairperson), Godfrey Katunguka (secretary), Levi Akatukunda (secretary for mass mobilisation), Habibu Mwanza (PWDs), Sam Mugumya (youth) and Rhoda Mirembe (committee member).
Elections were presided over by the district FDC chairperson, Ingrid Turinawe and the FDC coordinator, Roland Kaginda, who said the elections were free and fair. He thanked members for voting Besigye.
