KABAROLE — Senior Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) officials from Kampala rushed to Fort Portal after the party district chairperson, Edson Asaba, resigned. FDC inter-party coordinator James Musinguzi and a member Capt. Charles Byaruhanga met Asaba, also Fort Portal mayor, at his supermarket on Ruhandiika Street before meeting other officials.

Govt urged
KASESE — Participants at a workshop for women have challenged the Government to respect opinions and criticism from the opposition. The women leaders, who were recently attending the two-day workshop at Rock Primary School, blamed some of the political problems in the country on failure by some individuals in government to listen to advice and criticism from opponents.

20 arrested
KAMWENGE — The police recently rounded up 20 men for being idle and disorderly. District CID chief Kassim Bagonza said the night operation was prompted by reports of theft and burglary in the town. He said some of the people arrested had no identification papers.

Shops ruined
MBARARA — heavy rains recently left businessmen of Kabwohe town council in tears as their shops were de-roofed and merchandise destroyed. The buildings included one of a Uganda People’s Congress mobiliser, Sam Kahindi.
