FORMER IBF junior middleweight champion Kassim “The Dream” Ouma returned with a fourth round technical knockout against journeyman Alfredo Cuevas Thursday night in Atlantic City, USA.

The Ugandan pugilist put his punches together beautifully, using his right hook and right jab perfectly forcing the 36-year-old Chicagoan to surrender before the fifth round.

Ouma dropped Cuevas then caught him with a flush straight left that sunned him towards the end of round one.

The second and third rounds were more of the same as Ouma continued his brilliant display of accuracy.

In round four, Ouma put him down early on and continued the onslaught through the round forcing the stoppage.

Cuevas remained glued in his corner after round four until the referee called off the fight.

With the victory, Ouma bettered his record to 22-2-1(14 KOs). This was his 14th career knockout and his first since March last year against Colombian Juan Carlos Candelo.

The win comes three months after Ouma lost the International Boxing Federation belt to Russian Roman “Made in Hell” Karmazin. He was making his second defense.

Ouma’s ranking is expected to rise when the new ratings for this month are released next month.

The Florida based fighter is ranked number 12 by WBC and number six by IBF.

The bout headlined a fight card presented by Oscar De La Hoya and Bernard Hopkins’ Golden Boy Promotions.
