NTUNGAMO district councillors have shunned their duties over non-payment of allowances for eight months.
Twenty out of 29 councillors refused to attend the council meeting that was to be chaired by the Speaker Cosmas Kakuru-to pass the budget for the financial year 2005/06.

ARCHBISHOP Henry Luke Orombi has said rumours that war and bloodshed will mar Uganda’s political transition will not come to pass.
He was preaching at All Saints Church, Mbarara, on Monday.
