DAVENTRY Friends of Iganga (DFI), a UK-based non-governmental organisation, has donated a sh30m garbage truck to Iganga Town Council.

DFI’s chairperson Ella Minninnett handed over the truck to the council officials recently at the town’s headquarters.

Minninnett said, “The donation came as a result of the twinning relationship between DFI and Iganga Town Council.”

She said plans were underway to donate more garbage trucks to Iganga and other councils.

DFI’s national coordinator, David Balaba, accused some councillors of fighting development programmes in the area.
