THE Milton Obote Foundation (MOF) still owns majority shares in Uganda House.

Records from the Registrar General’s office indicate that MOF, where fallen president Dr Milton Obote was a trustee, owns 4,990 shares in a private subsidiary company, Uganda House Investments Limited (UHIL), owners of Plot 8-10 Kampala Road.

Other trustees are Niconara Abanya, Sam Odaka chairman of MOF and Sam Elangot, a director and chairman UHIL.

Obote is not listed as an individual shareholder in UHIL but as two companies, MOF and Uganda School Supply which owns 10 shares.

Odaka denied reports that Obote had given Uganda House to his son Jimmy Akena.

He also declined to disclose how many shares Obote had in UHIF, saying the company’s lawyers would disclose it when the administrator of the estate is chosen.

“When those who will be running the estate are chosen, we shall tell them the status of the estate,” Odaka said yesterday.

He said MOF had no shares but was registered as a limited liability company with Obote as one of the trustees.

The core business of UHIL, which was registered in 1986 as a private limited company, involves land development, building and construction.
