SAVE our Soccer (SOS) should be still fresh in the minds of football enthusiasts in this country.

A section of soccer fans have formed yet a new organisation, the National Union of Football Fans (NUFFA) which they hope to give a national outlook and bring together all the local fans countrywide.

The birth of NUFFA was announced at a press conference yesterday at Blue Africa Restaurant. Joseph Kizito, a UTV soccer analyst heads the interim executive that also has Ben Misagga, SC Villa fans’ coordinator and the leader of Express FC fans Francis Ntalazi. Sunday ‘Manara’ Mayanja, a staunch KCC fan is also on the executive.

Talking to the press yesterday, Kizito said NUFFA would work closely with all progressive forces in the development of football.

“It should be noted that in the recent past the game in Uganda has been dogged with mismanagement, poor standards, poor match attendances, and financial mismanagement amongst others,” he said.

He appreciated the work being done by the FUFA normalisation committee but added that NUFFA would keenly be following the developments especially the process of electing a new FUFA executive.
